19-20 Jeff Smith
Jeff Smith is the General Manager at Gateway Livestock Exchange based in Taber, Alberta. He has been in the livestock marketing industry since 2001, with much of that spent in finished cattle, studying and analyzing carcass performance. Jeff graduated from Lethbridge College with a diploma in Computer Information Technology. He sits on a number of boards within the industry, including the Alberta Cattle Feeders Association (ACFA), Alberta Livestock Dealers and Order Buyers, Forty Mile Feeders Association and Alberta Verified Beef Production. Jeff was elected Vice Chair of the Canadian Beef Check-Off Agency in August 2019.
Along with his partners at Deer Creek Livestock, Jeff was an honoured recipient of the 2020 Alberta Beef Producers Environmental Stewardship Award.
